Safety Tips and Trail Etiquette
We wish that it were enough to say “use common sense” or “remember the Golden Rule.”
But the reality is that the trail means different things to different people, and we all have different standards for what constitutes full consideration of each other’s rights and needs. Here are a few tips to (hopefully) help in this regard:
- Stay to your right unless passing
- Announce your intention to pass
- Keep dogs on a leash and please scoop the poop
- Respect private property along the trail
- Bike or roller blade in single file
- Move well off the trail when stopped
- Please do not litter
- Please do not vandalize
- Wear a helmet (state law for bicyclists 12 & under
- No motorized vehicles allowed on trail
